Before Birth

Before your baby/ies is/are born: learn a few tricks to get breastfeeding off to a good start. While the physiological process of breastfeeding may be normal, there are many aspects of breastfeeding that are learned. If you have a partner, a helpful friend or a supportive relative, I encourage them to participate so that they can learn effective strategies to help you while you learn to breastfeed.

During the prenatal class we will:

  • discuss evidence-based advice on how to get breastfeeding off to a good start, including tips for how others can help you while you are learning
  • discuss, observe (DVD), and practice how to attach a baby (a doll will be used for practice)
  • discuss and observe (DVD) how to make sure your baby is drinking a healthy amount
  • discuss any specific questions or concerns you may have

I offer the following options:

  • private classes in your home
  • group classes near Columbus Circle
  • group classes at Kinected 151 W 19th St, 2nd floor
